To everyone who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give a white stone, and on that stone will be written a new name."
Rev. 2:17
Right now I think my name is
"One who will never understand how to use the Editor Bar in Wix".
How hard can it be???
I will keep at it and hopeful someday it won't be such a painful process.
I want to share with you why understanding the history of the
White Stone is the Essential Verse in Recovery
and why I use it in the title of my clinical practice
"White Stone of New Hampshire"
&
"Life Coaching at White Stone of New Hampshire".
and why it is important to you. . . regardless of your faith, or lack of it.
I had wondered what the biblical significance of the
White Stone was in Rev. 2:17.
and found that in Roman Times, when slaves were set free,
they were given a
"White Stone with a "New Name" . .
I use this with my clients to think about the stone they do carry -
with all the names that others have been given by others
unloved
unwanted
ashamed
That is what one side of the stone reads. . .
and for many of us, that is what we accept, what we believe,
and we live in chronic emotional turmoil, relieve trauma over and over, experience depression and anxiety.
We seek others who only want to add to those names that others have dropped on our heads.
I encourage you to to turn that stone over and discover the names of freedom that God gave them . . .
loved
welcomed
encourager
beloved
compassionate one
wanted one . . .
God has a plan for you . . & whatever your dreams or desires . . .
understand the whether the bullying you experienced as a child,
from within your own family,
or the mind-chatter that is in your head,
is not the truth.
Afterthought
It is next to impossible to find a White stone in the US.
A client recently was on a beach in Ireland on a beach covered only with black stones.
He was kicking at the stones, and one single white stone was there.
When he picked it up to bring back to me, he mentioned to an Irish friend that this is called a "Worry Stone" in America.
His friend said in Ireland they would never say that, the stones are called "Thinking Stones".
Turn your White Stone Over. Your plan is to read the true words of encouragment on the other side, and to go ahead with your plans.
